Sarah, where do you think the tissue from miscarriages typically ends up? A lot of times in the toilet. A lot of women miscarry while sitting on the toilet, so what do you want to do -- go remove the remains and bring them to a pathologist's office?

I get it that you don't approve of abortion, and I can respect that to an extent. However, what do you think women do when they are pregnant and cannot have a legal abortion? They chemically or otherwise abort illegally, often in unsanitary conditions, which can place their lives in danger.

Many reasons exist why women abort, but a main one is that women cannot afford to raise a child. Why don't you stand up against the conditions that make women want abortions and not blame them for doing what they feel they must just to survive? What if you supported paid leave for new mothers and fathers, financial support for basic baby needs, a living wage that would help single mothers not have to raise their babies in poverty, drug and alcohol treatment programs instead of incarceration in the penal system?

Those are the real issues, and they are damn complicated and expensive. Those are the kind of things that a lot of Republican refuse to talk about and point only at women's abortions as important and immoral. That's why it's easy to beat the drum on abortion and do nothing about its causes.
