Men are also subjects of this patriarchy. Some men who support Trump genuinely believe he did not sexually assault women because it likely conflicts with their internal narrative that women should be protected and yet they chose for a rapist to lead this country and represent them.

They point to the problematic, rare cases of women's assaults at the hands of illegal immigrants, but they ignore the fact that most violent crimes against women are committed by dates, boyfriends, husbands, and partners. More pregnant, American women are killed by domestic partners than any disease or complication due to childbirth. that says a lot about the differnce between reality and society's ideal narrative.

To answer your question, I pity those men because they can't seem to look in the mirror and lack the moral courage to honestly answer who is raping, assaulting, and murdering women. The me too movement has finally begun to hold some powerful men accountable, but just as their names are mentioned, some men rush in to demean and diminish the words and reputations of the accusers.
