Max, most politicians with the power to outlaw abortion are men and part of the patriarchy that woman have needed to fight against if they wanted to possess any rights in this country -- voting, buying a home in their own names, establishing credit, working outside of the home, etc.

Although I agree that hyped up arguments that are illogical and overblown aren't very productive, look what we are up against? Some politicians are already against birth control methods like IUDs because they could cause a fertilized egg not to implant in the uterus.
