Many learn to respect other's views without actually holding the same opinions and life philosophies. Tolerance and acceptance, hallmarks of adult development and reasoning, are part of learning to coexist with other human beings, across cultures and faiths -- but then you already knew that, right?

It seems like you can't reconcile or respect others who don't share your ideas about Jesus. And that seems a very narrow path to walk. You say that others are disrespectful to your religious ideas, but couldn't it be true that you somehow feel threatened by those who don't share your beliefs, and so you reject them as being inferior and unequal to your own?

Talk about "conflicting claims," Christian denominations number in the dozens, and so it seems that even Christians are not a homogenous bunch either. Scratch the surface, and the concept of Jesus is as varied as the people who claim to follow him and common beliefs are few and often quiet fragmented.
