I've read about the law, and it is sort of ambiguous regarding Wisconsin's view on a 17 year old owning a weapon of this type verses a gun for hunting. Even the judge was noted as having debated this issue before relenting on Rittenhouse's charges on gun possession. My point is not the legality but the wisdom of bringing a weapon like this to a protest/riot situation. The outcome might have been predicted by the circumstance.
