I remember the women in my family discussing 'therapeutic D & Cs' in hushed voices in the kitchen while they were doing the dishes. Clearly, abortions were quietly being performed by those who could travel for them. Their husbands were either ignorant of what was being discussed or indifferent as long as they weren't involved.

I agree that the burden of being forced to carry unwanted pregnancies will be forced upon women who don't have the means to travel to have them performed. This is a tremendous injustice that I will continue to fight against.

I am so sorry that you had to go through this. Thank you for speaking up against the current state laws

that will send many women back to a hellish time and place.
