I do my research before making an assertion, and believe in evidence first when writing. Facts matter to me, emotions need to be harnessed and reined in.

Growing up in the US, I have witnessed much inequality and sexual violence towards women, mostly by the men who claimed to take care of them.

Rape, sexual assault, and physical abuse are truly what Feminists are fighting against. I know there may be a few man-haters in the mix, but generally, most of us Feminists just want to feel safe and have opportunities to support ourselves, so we can live decent lives.

I am no man-hater and actually spend a great deal of time riding in a primarily men's bike riding group, sometimes the only woman with up to 30 men. I have a deep respect and admiration for any of those men. They treat me like a valued member of their community.

However, when a man tries to shove me around, I do not tolerate it and will stand up to him every time. It's about self-respect.
