As a woman, I can attest to many women still wanting good men in their lives. Not the macho, toxic kind that threaten, abuse, rape and belittle us. In the past, women were usually expected to marry, and if their husbands were abusive, women stayed for many reasons--mostly that they couldn't get credit or a decent job, support their children, nor buy a home. They were trapped.

Now, we have education and employment, so it is far more a choice to marry, and women realize that they don't have to nor have children either. Being empowered for women is not a knock for decent men, only asshats that no woman has to put up with any longer. Those ones should be alone because they make crappy partners and poor role models for children.
